۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities (to mobilise troops) 53 'These' they said, 'are a small band, 54 and they have enraged us, 55 We are warning all of you about them." 56 So We made them leave the gardens and springs of water, 57 And treasures and agreeable mansions. 58 Thus [We turned them (Pharaoh's people) out] and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them. 59 The people of the Pharaoh pursued them at sunrise. 60 When the two forces drew within seeing distance of each other, the people of Moses said: "We shall certainly be overtaken." 61 (Moses) said: "By no means! my Lord is with me! Soon will He guide me!" 62 Then We revealed to Musa: Strike the sea with your staff. So it had cloven asunder, and each part was like a huge mound. 63 And We made the other party approach thither. 64 We saved Moses and all the people with him 65 then We drowned the others. 66 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 67 Indeed your Lord is mighty and merciful. 68
