۞ And when the son of Maryam is held up, an example, behold! thy people thereat cry out. 57 and said: “Who is better, our deities or he?” They said so only out of contentiousness. They are a disputatious people. 58 He (Prophet Jesus) was only a worshiper whom We favored and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 Verily he (i.e., Jesus) is a portent of the Hour. So be in no doubt concerning it and follow Me. This is the Straight Way. 61 And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy. 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 But the factions among them differed. Then woe unto those who do wrong from the doom of a painful day. 65 Are they looking for anything except the Hour (to overtake them). It will come upon them suddenly when they are unaware! 66 All intimate friends on that day will become each others enemies except for the pious, 67
