The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
