It was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein. 16 When the two receivers receive, sitting on the right and on the left. 17 whatever phrase he utters, an observer is present. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth: this is that which thou hast been shunning. 19 And the Horn shall be blown; that is the Day of Threat! 20 And there shall come every soul therewith shall be a driver and a witness. 21 (And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 every hinderer of the good, transgressor, disquieter, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ And his comrade shall say, 'Our Lord, I made him not insolent, but he was in far error.' 27 Allah will say: "Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat. 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
