Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 therein a running fountain, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions lined up 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
