The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

(I swear) by the snorting chargers (of the warriors), whose hoofs strike against the rocks 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 And raiding at dawn 3 Raising clouds of dust, 4 Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe), 5 The human being is certainly ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And is himself witness to it, 7 And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth 9 and the secrets of the hearts are laid bare (and examined)? 10 Surely on that Day will their Lord be fully informed about them. 11
