۞ And those who do not hope for Our meeting, say: Why have not angels been sent down upon us, or (why) do we not see our Lord? Now certainly they are too proud of themselves and have revolted in great revolt. 21 Upon the day that they see the angels, no good tidings that day for the sinners; they shall say, 'A ban forbidden!' 22 Then We shall advance upon the work which they have done and render it as scattered dust. 23 And for the People of the Garden on that day is a better destination and account, and a better place of afternoon rest. 24 And (remember) the Day when the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and the angels will be sent down, with a grand descending. 25 The real sovereignty will belong to Ar-Rahman. How grievous will be the day for the infidels! 26 The unjust man will bite at his hand and say, "Would that I had stood by the Messenger! 27 Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend. 28 Assuredly he misled me from the admonition after it had come unto me. Verily the Satan is ever unto man a betrayer. 29 And the Messenger will say, "O my Lord, my people had made this Qur'an the object of their ridicule." 30 Thus, from the sinful people We made enemies for every Prophet. Your Lord is a Sufficient Guide and Helper. 31 Those who deny the truth say, "Why was the Quran not sent down to him in a single revelation?" We sent it in this manner, so that We might strengthen your heart. We gave it to you in gradual revelation. 32 Every time they raise an objection, We will bring you the truth and the best of explanations. 33 Those who will be dragged headlong into Hell shall have an evil place to dwell in, for they have strayed far from the right path. 34
