But as for anyone who chooses to remain blind to the remembrance of the Most Gracious, to him We assign an [enduring] evil impulse, to become his other self: 36 And most surely they turn them away from the path, and they think that they are guided aright: 37 At length, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says (to his evil companion): "Would that between me and thee were the distance of East and West!" Ah! evil is the companion (indeed)! 38 (It will be said to them) “And you will not benefit from them this day, whereas you are unjust – for you are all partners in the punishment.” 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 And even if We take you (O Muhammad SAW) away, We shall indeed take vengeance on them. 41 Or if We shew thee that wherewith We threaten them, verily We are going to prevail over them. 42 Therefore, hold fast to that which is revealed to you, indeed, you are on the Straight Path. 43 The (Qur'an) is indeed the message, for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account. 44 Ask all Our Messengers whom We sent before you whether We had appointed any deities beside the Merciful One to be worshipped. 45
