And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 These men do say, 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
