Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha; Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 The sending down of the Book is from Allah, the Most Honourable, the Wise. 2 Indeed in the heavens and the earth are signs for believers. 3 And in the creation of yourselves and what He disperses of moving creatures are signs for people who are certain [in faith]. 4 and in the succession of night and day, and in the provision that Allah sends down from the sky wherewith He gives life to the earth after it had been lifeless, and in the change of the winds: (in all these) there are Signs for people who use reason. 5 These messages of God do We convey unto thee, setting forth the truth. In what other tiding, if not in God's messages, will they, then, believe? 6 Woe unto every liar, sinner! 7 Who heareth the revelations of Allah recited unto him, and then continueth in pride as though he heard them not. Give him tidings of a painful doom. 8 And when he comes to know about any of the verses, he mocks at it; for them is a disgraceful punishment. 9 Hell is behind them. Their worldly earnings shall not avail them, nor those whom they took as protectors instead of Allah. An awesome chastisement lies in store for them. 10 This is guidance; and those who disbelieve in the signs of their Lord, there awaits them a painful chastisement of wrath. 11
