Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
