In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 Who will be honoured 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 And spreading shade, 30 And water gushing, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For those on the right hand; 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
