Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
