The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 And the breath of morning 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So whither do you stray? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
