Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim 1 Ain Sin Qaf 2 Thus doth (He) send inspiration to thee as (He did) to those before thee,- Allah, Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom. 3 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and He is the Exalted, the Grand. 4 The heavens are almost split asunder from above as the angels sing their Lord's praise and seek forgiveness for those on earth. God is indeed the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 5 As for those who take guardians for themselves, other than Him, Allah is the Warden over them. You are not a guardian over them. 6 We have, therefore, revealed to you the eloquent Qur'an that you may warn the people of the Metropolis, and those who live around it, of the Day of Gathering, of which there is no doubt, (when mankind would be assembled) some in Heaven, some in Hell. 7 And if Allah had willed, He could have made them one nation, but He admits whom He wills to His Mercy. And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) will have neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper. 8 (Are they so foolish that) they have chosen others rather than Allah as their protectors? Yet it is Allah Who is the Protector and Who resurrects the dead and Who has power over everything. 9
