Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 until an appointed time? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
