The Night (Al-Layl)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
