The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 those who are true to their trust, 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
