He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 To him you give attention. 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and pious. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces will shine, 38 laughing, joyous; 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
