Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
