۞ IT IS GOD who creates you [all in a states of weakness, and then, after weakness, ordains strength [for you,] and then, after [a period of] strength, ordains [old-age] weakness and grey hair. He creates what He wills; and He alone is all-knowing, infinite in His power. 54 On that Day when the Hour will come to pass the wicked shall swear that they had stayed (in the world) no more than an hour. Thus they used to be deceived in the life of the world. 55 But those to whom knowledge and faith are given will say: The truth is, ye have tarried, by Allah's decree, until the Day of Resurrection. This is the Day of Resurrection, but ye used not to know. 56 Their excuses will be of no avail to the sinners on that day, and they will not be allowed to beg for favour. 57 We have offered every kind of example here in this Qur'an to men. Even then if you bring a verse to them, those who disbelieve say: "You are nothing but a liar." 58 In this way God seals the hearts of those who do not [want to] know [the truth], 59 Therefore patiently endure, indeed the promise of Allah is true; and may not those who do not have faith make you impatient. 60
