And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
