The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 a host of the ancients 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 and raised couches 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
