Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 “That you must worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me.” 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 And behold, whenever I called unto them with a view to Thy granting them forgiveness, they put their fingers into their ears, and wrapped themselves up in their garments [of sin]; and grew obstinate, and became [yet more] arrogant in their false pride. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 and spoke to them in public and in private." 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 What aileth you that ye expect not in Allah majesty! 13 And surely He hath created you by stages. 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 And thereafter He will cause you to return thereinto, and He will bring you forth a forthbringing. 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 so that you may tread its spacious paths.” 20
