The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
