Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
