The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
