God has created the heavens and the earth with reason, so that He may reward each soul in accordance with what it has done; and no wrong will be done to them. 22 HAST THOU ever considered [the kind of man] who makes his own desires his deity, and whom God has [thereupon] let go astray, knowing [that his mind is closed to all guidance,] and whose hearing and heart He has sealed, and upon whose sight He has placed a veil? Who, then, could guide him after God [has abandoned him]? Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 23 And they say: There is nothing but our life in this world; we live and die and nothing destroys us but time, and they have no knowledge of that; they only conjecture. 24 Whenever Our clear revelations are recited to them, their only argument is to say, "Bring back to us our forefathers, if what you say be true." 25 Say thou: Allah keepeth you alive, then He shall cause you to die, then He shall assemble you on the Day of Resurrection whereof there is no doubt; but most of mankind know not. 26
