Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To clear or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
