He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 and in awe [of God] 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 On honoured leaves 13 Exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 but others will be gloomy 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
