The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
