Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In the high empyrean, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
