T H (Taa Haa)
135 verses, revealed in Mecca after Mary (Maryam) before The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta Ha 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 but as a reminder to he who fears. 3 It is a revelation from the Creator of the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne. 5 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and whatever lies in between them, and all that lies under the ground. 6 And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden. 7 God is the only Lord and to Him belong all the exalted Names. 8 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family: 'Stay here, for I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a lighted torch or find at the fire guidance' 10 And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa (Moses)! 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed to you. 13 Lo! I, even I, am Allah, There is no Allah save Me. So serve Me and establish worship for My remembrance. 14 Indeed, the Hour is coming - I almost conceal it - so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives. 15 Hence, let not anyone who does not believe in its coming and follows [but] his own desires divert thee from [belief in] it, lest thou perish! 16 “And what is this in your right hand, O Moosa?” 17 'Why, it is my staff,' said Moses. 'I lean upon it, and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep; other uses also I find in it. 18 The Lord said, "Moses, throw it on the ground". 19 So he threw it down, and all of a sudden, it turned into a fast-moving serpent. 20 Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. 21 "Now place thy hand within thy armpit: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish, as another sign [of Our grace,] 22 “In order that We may show you Our great signs.” 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent.' 24
