The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and continuous shade, 30 and flowing water, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 And made them virginal, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
