Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 in a lofty Garden 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
