Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
