The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
