The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Thereafter you will certainly die 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
