The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
