And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 no loyal friend. 101 Would that we had a second chance [in life,] so that we could be among the believers!" 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
