And whatever calamity befalls you, is because of what your hands have earned – and there is a great deal He pardons! 30 You cannot challenge God on earth and you will have no one besides Him as your guardian or helper. 31 And among His signs are the ships that run on the sea like mountains and 32 If He so wills, He can cause the winds to become still so that they will remain motionless on its surface. Surely there are many Signs in this for those who are wont to be steadfast and give thanks. 33 He may, while forgiving much of the sins of those that ride these ships, drown them on account of some of their misdeeds. 34 and that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know they have no asylum. 35 Now whatever ye have been given is but a passing comfort for the life of the world, and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord, 36 Those who avoid the greater crimes and shameful deeds, and, when they are angry even then forgive; 37 who respond to their Lord and attend to their prayers; who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation and spend out of what We have provided for them; 38 And those who defend themselves when they are wronged. 39 The retribution of evil is the equal of evil (done); yet those who forgive and rehabilitate will be rewarded by God. Verily He does not like those who do wrong. 40 Those who successfully defend themselves after being wronged will not be questioned. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment. 42 But he who bears with patience and forgives, surely complies with divine resolve. 43
