Al-Dukhaan 3 of 3
Verily the tree of Zaqqum 43 shall be the food of the guilty sinners. 44 Like molten copper boiling in the belly 45 Like the boiling of hot water. 46 (A voice will cry: "Seize ye him and drag him into the midst of the Blazing Fire! 47 Then pour upon his head the torment of boiling water. 48 Taste; you forsooth are the mighty, the honorable: 49 This is the very thing which you [deniers of the truth] were wont to call in question!" 50 As to the Righteous (they will be) in a position of Security, 51 amidst gardens and fountains, 52 Attired in fine silk and brocade, facing each other. 53 Just like that. We shall pair them with companions with large black eyes. 54 In it they will ask for all kinds of fruit, with safety. 55 They will not taste death therein except the first death, and He will have protected them from the punishment of Hellfire 56 as a bounty from your Lord. That will be the mighty triumph. 57 And indeed, We have eased the Qur'an in your tongue that they might be reminded. 58 Wait, then; they too are waiting. 59

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
