Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Woe to the liars 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
