The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad SAW to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon). 1 And if they behold a sign, they turn away and say: magic continuous 2 They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision 3 They have certainly received the kind of news in which there is a lesson and strong words of wisdom, 4 but the warnings have proved to have no effect on them. 5 So turn thou away from them. Upon the day when the Caller shall call unto a horrible thing, 6 with downcast eyes they shall come out of their graves, as if they were locusts milling about 7 Hastening toward the summoner. The infidels will say: this is a day diffrcult. 8 ۞ The people of Noah had denied before them, and had called Our votary a liar, and said: "He is possessed," and repulsed him. 9 Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!" 10 We opened the gates of the sky and water started to pour down. 11 And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined. 12 We carried him in a well built, watertight vessel made from planks (of wood) 13 Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied. 14 We have left it as a sign. Is there any that will remember? 15 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 16 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 17 (The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings. 18 And We sent against them a howling wind in a Day of continuous of ill fortune 19 Tearing men away as if they were the trunks of palm-trees torn up. 20 How was then My punishment and My commination! 21 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 22
