The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 Who will be honoured 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 The reward for what they did. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 and serried acacias, 29 and extended shade, 30 and flowing water 31 and fruits abounding 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
