The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
