The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and rejects what is right, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
