The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats, 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
