Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
