Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The emulous desire of abundance engrosseth you, 1 Until ye visit the graves. 2 Yes certainly, you will soon realise! 3 Again lo! presently ye shall know. 4 Lo! would that ye knew now with the surety of knowledge! 5 that you shall surely see Hell? 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 Then, on that day, ye will be asked concerning pleasure. 8

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
